To maintain membership in Tri-M, members must fulfill the following requirements:
Regular meeting attendance. Meetings are held once a month, on a Thursday morning and a Friday afternoon (you are only required to attend one of the two per month). If you are unable to attend a meeting, you must contact one of the officers beforehand to excuse your absence. Any unexcused absences will add 2 hours to your community service requirement.
10 community service hours. Throughout the course of the year, all members are required to complete 10 community service hours. 5 of those hours must be music-related and approved by Tri-M, and the other 5 must be from non-music related service activities. To turn in your community service hours, you must fill out the standard HRHS Community Service Form and turn it in to our secretary, Stephanie Schubert.
Attendance of 2 social events. Social events include band/orchestra/choir/theatre performances, sporting events, and any Tri-M planned social events.
Attendance of the Tri-M Induction Ceremony. The induction ceremony will be held on Tuesday September 18th at 7pm.
Performance of a solo or ensemble piece at a Tri-M approved performance event. Tri-M will provide two performance opportunities, one in December and one in February. Percussionists involved in Tri-M will have an additional opportunity to complete this requirement (as approved by Tri-M), considering the difficulties in transporting large percussion instruments.
$30 fee payment. Members are only required to pay this fee once, at the beginning of the school year.
Current membership in a music class or ensemble.
Current "A" grade in your music class or ensemble.
Attendance Tri-M State Student Leadership Conference at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. This is a required event; transportation and lunch will be provided.
